10 speed auto transmission (10R80) S550 Mustang showing up in Microcat

It has been long rumored that the 2018 Mustang refresh would usher in a new automatic transmission that Ford Motor Company has co-developed with General Motors, as we reported last year.
We now have our first unofficial confirmation of the 10-speed automatic transmission (10R80) which will be offered for the 2018 Mustang.
The new 10R80 transmission just appeared under the Transmission selection menu for the S550 Mustang in Microcat, the online database system used by Ford dealerships to look up parts for its vehicles.
While the part is not directly linked to any specific model year, and since the 2018 model year is not yet selectable within the system (showing up only as “2015+ Mustang” currently), this provides the first solid indication that the new 10 speed auto is coming soon and is all but assured for the 2018 Mustang.
Exciting times are ahead as the next model year S550 Mustang will debut new transmissions along with various engine, cosmetic and feature upgrades.

2017 Shelby GT350 Easter Eggs

With every new model year there are usually a few minor changes not mentioned in any of the manufacturer’s official statements and materials.
Now that the 2017 GT350 has arrived at dealership lots — a nationwide search shows dozens across the country — we get a glimpse at some of the little-known Easter Eggs, all thanks to a 2017 Shelby GT350 with Convenience Package (900A) that showed up at a Kentucky dealership.
Photos of the 2017 GT350 show the soft door rollover which is new for this model year (noted in theorder guide), a new chassis numbering sequence and several changed logos on the strut tower brace and door sill plate.

Cervini’s Stalker Series at Ford Nationals

During the Ford Nationals two weekends ago, Cervini’s Auto Designs revealed a few of its new S550 “Stalker” components that were showcased on a 2015 Mustang that we’ve featured in the past.
The Triple Yellow “Honey Badger” S550 owned by M6G member Josh Baker, showed off the new Stalker series hood, wing and side scoops.
The Cervini’s Stalker hood features a large center scoop with a black powder coated hexagon screen and optional ram air duct to force air directly to most major cold air intakes. The functional heat extractors to the sides of the scoop remain intact with a built-in drainage system that prevents water from coming into contact with the engine’s electronics.
Josh’s vehicle also gave us our first look at the Stalker side scoops which features dual black powder coated screened openings that flow nicely with the aggressive modern styling of the hood. Cervini’s tells us the installation of the side scoops is quick and easy with the use of double-sided tape.
Last but not least the back side is adorned by the eye-catching Stalker wing — a three piece rear spoiler with modern race-inspired styling. Available for both the fastback and convertible S550, the wing, like the other Stalker components ships unpainted but can be upgraded to a fully painted finish in any S550 Mustang Ford paint code.
Cervini’s has plans to offer a full Stalker-series front end, side skirts, and rear valence so stay tuned for more developments.

Blackbird Twin Turbo S550 System

We previously highlighted two fantastic twin turbo systems available for the S550 Mustang and now a third option from TwinTurboMustang.net has entered the market.
The Blackbird Twin Turbo system is a full bolt-on kit with smart design and top notch build quality. Effective heat management should be a top priority for any good turbo system and the Blackbird kit is no exception. Its Precision BB5858 turbochargers are placed in the exhaust track and away from the radiator and other engine components which helps increase longevity and create maximum power.
No expense was spared in the build quality as the system features hand-made turbo manifolds using Schedule 10 Type 304 Stainless Steel piping. The company also adopts a “less is more” philosophy using as little intercooler piping as possible and the least amount of parts for a complete kit, making installation of this 100% reversible bolt-on kit easier with no cutting, welding or relocation of stock parts required.
The kit is also unique in that it incorporates true cold air intakes with its optional Velocity Stack Kit, which will be particularly advantageous for driving in wet conditions.
Customers with a stock engine with the Blackbird twin turbo system with supporting fuel and tuning can expect over 700 horsepower to the wheels @10psi on pump fuel. TwinTurboSystem.net also has customers who have made over 1300 WHP with the kit on a built engine and 6466 Turbos.

Finding the right Car insurance policy can seem quite daunting, but we have some information to help make it simple.

Car insurance is a legal requirement

Every motorist is required by law to have insurance for their vehicle, providing cover for you and other named drivers in the event of driving-related damage or injury.
The only exception would be if the vehicle is registered as off road with a Statutory Off Road Notice (SORN).

 Filling in your application

You're responsible for answering any questions relating to your application honestly. If the information is found to be incorrect it could invalidate your insurance and your insurer may not pay out for any claims you make.
Always make sure that the policy you're applying for has the right level of cover and features that you require.

Factors affecting your car insurance premium

Car Insurers will take into account many different factors when calculating your car insurance premium. These will include:
Vehicle type: If you have an expensive car or a high-performance vehicle, you'll probably be in a high insurance group and may have to pay more for your premium.
Age: Younger drivers will usually have to pay more for insurance, as statistically they're more likely to make a claim.
Occupation: Particular jobs could raise premiums, such as chefs or journalists.
Use of vehicle: How often you use your car, your mileage and when you travel could have an effect on how much you pay. Travelling within busy peak times can bump up your premium, too.
Driving history: Prior convictions can affect the price of your insurance.
Voluntary excess: Opting for a higher voluntary excess (the amount you pay in the event of a claim) could lower your premium.
Where you live: If your house is in an area where statistically vehicle crime is high, this could have an impact on your insurance.
